Ahem. With all due respect, coming up this fall is an amazing lineup of actresses, poised to deliver what look to be some of the best performances of the year. These ladies are in it to win it, and by "it" we mean box office loot, Oscars, and a special place in our hearts.

Peter Travels på Rolling Stones har listat de 21 filmerna som man bara måste se i höst. "Breaking Dawn: Part 1" har fått sin plats i listan.

OK, anyone who reads my reviews knows that I don't care much for the castrated film versions of Stephenie Meyer's vampire bestsellers. But I have hopes for "Breaking Dawn, Part 1" and even "Part 2" because both are directed by Bill Condon, who's the real deal (see "Gods and Monsters", "Kinsey" and "Dreamgirls"). If anyone can put life into the marriage and long-awaited sex betweem the human Bella (Kristen Stewart) and the bloodsucking Edward (Rob Pattinson), it's Condon. Twi-hards, I'm with you this time.

Coming last, but not least, is Twilight’s Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, who have both earned $20 million last year thanks to the franchise’s global success, making their combined annual salary $40 million. With the end of the "Twilight" franchise in sight, they both are preparing for a post-vampire career. Pattinson has taken the lead in more “serious” projects, like "Remember Me", which earned $56 million on a budget of $16 million. In the meantime, Stewart’s not-Twilight career hasn’t been as promising as her co-star and real-life boyfriend’s so far. Her 2010 film "The Runaways" grossed only $4.6 million at the box office. But there’s still hope for Stewart: next month she will be seen in cinemas playing the leading role in the film "Snow White and the Huntsman".

The 30 hottest rising stars right now
Who? Stewart’s name will always be synonymous with Twilight, 2008’s surprise monster hit, which spawned four sequels.
Why So Hot? Stewart achieved years of critical acclaim in indie films like Speak and Into The Wild, but Twlight pushed her into the big time. She's since stuck to her roots with smaller productions – taking roles opposite Jesse Eisenberg in Adventureland, with fellow Twilight alumni Dakota Fanning in The Runaways, and then as MaryLou in novel adaptation On The Road. She's now heading back into studio fare, taking the lead in Universal’s Snow White And The Huntsman, due out next June.
What’s Next? The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, the penultimate film in the series, is due out this November.

Better to consider this list a spot-check; a snapshot of whose careers are in the ascendant right now, based on the reception of their releases over the past 12 months, and on our best guesses about the projects they have lined up for the next year or so. To arrive at our rankings, we do look at the box office, and also at awards and critical reception – but also, less scientifically, we try to take the measure of career momentum by looking at the caliber of these actresses’ projects and collaborators, the kind of roles they they are playing and the buzz they are generating. It’s an inexact science to say the least, but if we have omitted True Grit discovery Hailee Steinfeld, for example, that’s not because she was less than terrific in the movie, it’s just that so far, there is no evidence this is anything more than a one-off, and we will have to wait and see if the planned Romeo And Juliet film she has lined up for 2012 proves otherwise.

Since then, of course, she’s also played Billy Burke’s daughter, Bella Swan, in Twilight – the kind of recurring role in a hit franchise that you could build a career on, assuming you have what it takes to capitalize. Her impressive, gritty performance as Joan Jett in The Runaways suggests that she does – it’s enough to make even Bella-beaters reassess – but the movie didn’t bring in a wide audience. With Walter Salles’ On The Road in the can (and more Twilights, of course), Stewart is starting work on a live action Snow White (one of two rival productions going ahead this year) opposite Thor, Chris Hemsworth.

But the two-part Breaking Dawn should bring her enough money to play around with different roles while looking for her next big hit. Stewart is attached to one of two Snow White projects currently in development.
