Bill Condon pratar om Kirsten och "Breaking Dawn"
Q: About the honeymoon scene, I noticed of course the humor in that. Why did you guys choose to do it that way and how did that decision come about?
Bill: About being funny when she’s getting ready? It just felt like it was human. It was like, again, making everything as real as possible, and it’s like anybody in that moment when it’s like “Oh my God, it’s about to happen”, it’s one thing it’s gonna happen this night. God, it’s Bella, after all this time. And it’s a vampire, you know? But now is the moment and it’s just about making it as relatable as possible. Like, what do you do? You just try to control it in any way you possibly can. You know, you brush your teeth for the tenth time and do all those things to make yourself think that you’re ready, which of course you can’t do. And then the way we cut it it was just like a lot of jump cuts to make it like she’s sort of this nervous jangly thing. You know the way Kristen goes? (taps fingers impatiently on table, everyone laughs) that was the rythm of it, you know? We matched that with the way we presented it.
Q: Have you had experience working with a lot of child actors, and what was it like working with all the Reneesmes?
Bill: Oh, yeah (laughs). That’s for Part 2! I had done a little before, but not as much as now. First, Mackenzie, she’s a 10 year old going on 30. She’s so mature and smart, so that was a pleasure. Sometimes it was hard because the other actresses were actually just there. It was always going to be just Mackenzie’s expressions and things like that, so it was a very specific technical thing that even I was learning as we did it. But I have to say, they were real troopers these girls.
Q: We had the pleasure of having Stephenie Meyer attached to the films. How was it like working with Stephenie, going on one-on-one basis? What was it like working with her?
Bill: It was great, I mean, you know her. She’s so down to earth, you know? And she’s so… It’s an interesting thing, and I don’t know if this happened across time or if this is how she’s always been, but she’s also a movie lover. And she’s really become very knowledgeable about making movies and about what you have to do to kind of, not kill your babies, but sometimes there are things that work so beautifully in description that don’t translate as well cinematically. Like the scene you saw that was not in the book, right? It’s a suggestion in the book but becomes very dramatic in the movie, where once Jacob breaks with Sam, it’s not that Sam is going to attack immediately. He’s going to sit back and wait and close in on them, you know? And they are now stuck in that house, it’s a siege. And they haven’t fed. So, they’re getting weaker when the wolves are getting stronger and closer. And Jacob has to figure out a way to help them get out. So he does this thing, and I don’t want to give too much away, but that thing where he says “No, I’ll be the one to take care of it because they trust me”. That is where you’re wondering if that’s true, is Jacob wavering. It’s another interesting kind of conflict that goes on that creates a better movie.
Q: Was there anything you found particularly challenging? Was there a scene you thought when you looked at the script “Yes! I’m doing this” and it became really challenging, or something that you were really excited to film?
Bill: I think they’re both sides of the same coin. And the most exciting things, some of them, were the ones that were scarier. I think each movie has them. In this movie it was talking wolves, right? We’re finally doing that. The wolves’ point of view and seeing and capturing how they communicate. That was a scary one. Imprinting was definitely scary, child birth was scary. I would say those were the big three that were big ideas from the book that had to be captured and be made exciting and I think you can easily go down a very wrong path. And I hope we didn’t.
Q: With the birth, like you talked about, it’s a violent birth, and the impending fight with the Volturi, then the honeymoon and the sex scenes. Knowing all those aspects, did you find it hard to balance the boundry between PG-13 and R? Did you sort of go to R and cut back? How did you approach that?
Bill: You know, I think it’s a good challenge because the thing that makes something R is literally showing it and if you give yourself that rule: I’m not gonna show, it’s not going to be frontal nudity, no one wants that, that is not appropriate here , but they are going to have intense love making scenes. Or we’re not going to, again, show splattering blood against the walls but it’s gonna be very visceral. It actually becomes a fun challenge to make sure you feel like you have the same experience without having to watch something clinical. I think it makes it better. There are great romantic scenes in PG-13 movies, you know?
Q: One of the questions at the fan panel today was, what was your favorite movie from the saga? How does it feel to have every single cast member say Breaking Dawn?
Bill: Well, first of all, I made a joke by the way when I said Breaking Dawn. And Taylor said that. I think Kristen was careful to say that she loved Twilight. I have great respect for every director that has come before and I think they all did amazing, and amazingly different work. That’s why I was interested in taking it on. Because I can’t think of a series quite like this where it’s the same… I guess you can say Harry Potter, but they seem to stay closer stylistically than these movies have. But you have the source material, and Melissa doing this script, and the cast in common, the movies feel very different. Anyway, I think, if there was someone to say that I do feel like there’s a slightly unfair advantage that I have with this movie is that so much happens. The middle movies were setting things up. And I think when you’re a writer the hardest part is the second act, and those were second act movies.

Bill Condons intervjuer med Movieline och Movies.com
Not only that, but the idea that Bill Condon would want to direct a Twilight movie! What were the reasons you were interested in the job, and how did you go about convincing Summit you were the right director?
You’d have to talk with them but I think it was the connection to the material that I felt. Because it’s all told from Bella’s point of view, I don’t know why I hook into her so much especially in this story. And my Kristen Stewart crush, you know? The idea that she was going to take this journey, I was really exciting to collaborate with her on that.
What is your strategy in regards to what to show and what not to show to fans?
I know! Well, it was hard this time, because I think there are just basic things. You don’t want to show Bella in the wedding dress…
Why?
Because we want to, as long as we can and I hope we can keep it until opening day! We want to keep it a surprise.
You went pretty long without even announcing the dress designer. So, until opening day, will you not reveal Bella’s dress?
If we have our way, which you know will never happen. [Laughs] But I’m hoping! Certainly today in July, we’re not going to show anything in the wedding dress, and I’m not going to show anything of her pregnant because that’s a whole transformation that she goes through. So you take that out of the equation and for Bella and Edward there’s really only the honeymoon, and for Jacob, it’s really not that many scenes. So it wasn’t really hard to figure out once you got to that point.
No one wants to see — no one needs to see a full-on sex scene to have the incredibly intense experience that they’re making love, you know?
There are so many iconic scenes in the book; how do you walk the line of romanticizing the feathers-at-the-honeymoon scene, or deciding how gory to go with the birth scene, in a PG-13 movie?
You know it’s not going to be an R-rated movie, so it’s a great challenge. How do you have the experience without having to be too explicit about it. I think that’s not a hard thing to do. No one wants to see — no one needs to see a full-on sex scene to have the incredibly intense experience that they’re making love, you know? And it’s more romantic. The same with the birth; I think it’s very visceral, but it doesn’t necessarily need close-ups of certain things.
Did you track the fan reaction when the honeymoon footage leaked?
Oh, yeah. That was upsetting.
I can imagine — so much got out. But fans seemed to love what you did in that sex scene. Especially, if I may point out, the bed breaking glimpsed in the trailer. It’s sexy.
[Laughs] I think it’s good. I hope people feel that way.

You showed two clips today. For the clip that was of the honeymoon scene in the secluded island getaway, the thing that struck me was that there is so much silence. There isn’t a lot of dialogue. That could result in intended awkward silences or just unwanted awkwardness, can you relate how that choice came about?
Condon: That’s very intriguing. I was looking because we started to do a temp mix on the movie, and the whole last reel it’s 20 minutes long and there are only 59 lines. So maybe that’s a thing. I don’t know. But there, there is this incredible elephant in the room, and it’s called a bed. It’s between them, and it’s almost comic how much this has been anticipated. Forget about the fan anticipation, but just the anticipation of these two characters. So inevitably, it’s about what’s going on between the lines. The two actors just captured that so well. Part of it is its awkwardness is funny too, but in a very real way.
Movies.com: In other words the audience is laughing with Bella not at her as she’s flinging all these skimpy outfits out of the suitcase?
Condon: Right, right.
Movies.com: In the Hall H panel, you talked about how you feel that there is no bigger Twilight fan on the set than Kristen Stewart. Can you expand on that?
Condon: Right from the beginning she was a real collaborator. When I sit down with her with and a draft of the script and she says, “God I miss this part not being in,” most of the time we put it right back in. I think she never loses sight of what it was like for her the first time she read Breaking Dawn. She’s reading it as a fan, but also with the responsibility of giving and living up to what is expressed in the books about what Bella is feeling. She becomes an important voice to listen to in all of that. As I said we’d talk about it, then we’d rehearse it, then we’d block it, then we’d come to the day and we would still find some nuisances that we’d want to explore having reread it again the night before.”

Gotland imorgon!

Kristen Stewart was in her standard jeans and t-shirt last night when she arrived back at LAX. She spent a week out of town in order to see her boyfriend. Kristen Stewart visited Robert Pattinson in Toronto, where he's been working on the movie "Cosmopolis". Now Kristen will be back to her new routine of prepping to shoot "Snow White and the Huntsman". Practice for the role has involved both yoga and horseback riding for Kristen so that she can be in top form for the physically demanding production. She's had enough downtime between exercise sessions to meet up with some old friends, including one night out with her Twilight buddy Taylor Lautner at the premiere of their "New Moon" director Chris Weitz's new film "A Better Life".

Kristen äcklas av Casey Anthony-jämförelserna
Casey Anthony: The Movie, starring...not Kristen Stewart.
Kristen Stewart is none too pleased with chatter linking her and Casey Anthony, the 25-year-old Florida woman acquitted this week in the 2008 death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.
"Her people are really annoyed about the Casey Anthony comparisons," a source tells Us Weekly of the Twilight actress, 21, who shares the same brunette locks and brooding eyes as Anthony, who is expected to go free within weeks.
"Kristen wants that talk to blow over soon, because it looks really bad."
Don't expect Stewart to portray Anthony in a flick anytime soon. "She would never for no amount of money portray that girl," the source says. "It's grossing her out. All those entertainment shows are doing polls and what not and her people just want it to stop!"

Septemberomslag för "W-Magazine"
Kristen Stewart has landed the September cover of W Magazine! The Breaking Dawn actress will be doing something very artsy (since that's what the mag is known for), and high fashion for sure.
Hollywood Life is guessing that KStew will be photographed by Jean-Baptiste Mondino or Craig McDean, but it's really the fashion that people are going to be paying close attention to. Since KStew hardly ever dressed up (unless she has to), her high-fashion photo shoots are very cool to see.
Some people look at Kristen's photos differently because they look at her as a girl next door type who gets glammed up for the mags. It's almost as if people can see themselves in her shoes. She's literally a girl getting to play dress up! There is no doubt that she dislikes some of the outfits chosen for her, but it's all about the business (and the paycheck). Are you excited to see Kristen's cover?

Top 15 actresses under 30
2011 hot list: Top 15 Actresses under 30
Better to consider this list a spot-check; a snapshot of whose careers are in the ascendant right now, based on the reception of their releases over the past 12 months, and on our best guesses about the projects they have lined up for the next year or so. To arrive at our rankings, we do look at the box office, and also at awards and critical reception – but also, less scientifically, we try to take the measure of career momentum by looking at the caliber of these actresses’ projects and collaborators, the kind of roles they they are playing and the buzz they are generating. It’s an inexact science to say the least, but if we have omitted True Grit discovery Hailee Steinfeld, for example, that’s not because she was less than terrific in the movie, it’s just that so far, there is no evidence this is anything more than a one-off, and we will have to wait and see if the planned Romeo And Juliet film she has lined up for 2012 proves otherwise.
4. Kristen Stewart
Age: 21
2010 Ranking: 1
Credits: Twilight Saga; The Runaways; Into The Wild; Adventureland
Debits: Jumper; What Just Happened
Stewart has played Jodie Foster’s daughter in Panic Room, Meg Ryan’s daughter in In The Land Of Women, and Robert De Niro’s daughter in What Just Happened? Since then, of course, she’s also played Billy Burke’s daughter, Bella Swan, in Twilight – the kind of recurring role in a hit franchise that you could build a career on, assuming you have what it takes to capitalize. Her impressive, gritty performance as Joan Jett in The Runaways suggests that she does – it’s enough to make even Bella-beaters reassess – but the movie didn’t bring in a wide audience. With Walter Salles’ On The Road in the can (and more Twilights, of course), Stewart is starting work on a live action Snow White (one of two rival productions going ahead this year) opposite Thor, Chris Hemsworth.

Detaljer om "Snow White and the Huntsman"
Who needs “happily ever after” when you can reinvent the fairy-tale rules?
Producer Joe Roth’s announcement that Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman is “meant to be the first in a series of films” delivers a body blow to Relativity’s already filming untitled Snow White, which is slated to come out first. “This story will end,” he says, “but there will be questions remaining for these three characters.”
As befits a would-be franchise, Universal will mount a presentation at Comic-Con this July before production on Huntsman even begins in August. Roth provides more details on the main characters, played by Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron below:
The Huntsman: “The Huntsman is a mercenary, in the sense that he’s a guy who is very able in the woods, more able than most anyone. His job is to capture runaway girls, who are all fleeing the kingdom because of the queen. He’s a nondescript bounty hunter, as we first meet him…He’s not a nice guy, but not only that, he’s someone who has lost hope and lost faith. He has lost his wife, given up on everything.”
Snow White: “She starts out not a damsel in distress, but innocent, and after 11 years of imprisonment by the Evil Queen, she escapes and learns the ways of a warrior in the woods,…[of Kristen Stewart] I hope this is a movie that will appeal to those who find Twilight appealing, but also [Stewart] is someone who has some piss and vinegar in her.
Evil Queen: ”She’ll be larger than life. Evil without any burden of guilt.”
